Roll-on roll-over vessels make transport of large vehicles a much simpler task. Ro-ro ships have dual use, civilian-military capabilities. Tanks can ride in and out of the ship, as readily as a Mazda Miata. This is an important reason why the United States needs to maintain and have access to RORO capable vessels in the event of national emergency.
