Rates based on volume or weight equivalent,
whichever is greater. Minimum 7-lbs per cubic foot
density factor.

OA warehouse FREE TIME: Up to 5 calendar days from date packaging is complete and measurements taken.
SIT storage charges apply for booked cargo not moving promptly after completion of packaging.
All shipments of personal effects must be prepaid before pier delivery for export.

Packing cost is based on weight or measure
whichever is greater. Total cubic footage is measured
once the cargo actually packed and loaded.
Our service levels are:
Premium (best origin/destination agents),
Regular (only in certain locations),
Economy (totally pbo-packed by owner, no labor).
Deposit Required before start of any job.
Labor scheduling is subject to booking
(receipt of your deposit) and
availability of labor crew.
About timing:
O/A origin agent pickup and export-packing jobs coming from remote locations
will require a certain degree of flexibility. If going with Sefco, our operations manager
in your area will contact you directly to schedule the pickup date.
Rates assume:
Normal access to pickup site, normal weight/dimensions.
Sefco Export uses the industry standard density factor
of (up to) 7-lbs net weight for every 1-cubic foot volume.
This density factor is for normal overseas movements
consisting of household goods / personal effects only.
Exceedingly heavy items (metal safes, pianos)
will incur an extra handling charge. See: accessorials
Warehouse Handling (labor in/out) charges
apply for cargo not directly loaded into an
ocean container at pickup site.

Accessorial Services
Professional Mover "accessorial fees" mean:
extra charges that may apply for service above and beyond what is considered to be a normal pickup.
Extra labor charges will apply for goods coming for locations
with difficult access
(no entry/exit near the street where a container is to be positioned).
A customer will typically know if they are in a
poor access location or not.
If we have to pay our professional packers/movers to perform
accessorial services this will be an additional charge to our
normal origin service rate. The same applies to the services performed by our professional D/A destination agents (our movers who perform the final delivery into your overseas residence).
Accessorial services include:
automobile service (pickup, loading/unloading),
new liftvans, art crating, motorcycle crating, piano handling and crating/uncrating, heavy safe or equipment handling,
oversized goods hoisted from roofs or out windows, extra location pickups,
stairs over 2nd floor/walk up flights,
shuttle service for difficult access
(van/dollies with labor), dis-assembly or re-assembly of complex furniture, long carry, "cherry picker" outdoor elevators, crane service,
mechanical hoisting/rigging, electrical work, carpentry services,
sit-storage in transit, abnormal export customs clearance,
special trip couriers.
Such accessorial services may be needed at either the origin or destination delivery address.
Our auto-export department can arrange for US Customs
export clearance of your car title, provided it is free and clear of any liens. Export customs clearance of documents at origin, is not the same as import customs clearance at destination.
Does your high-rise building require your packers/movers to produce
a certificate of insurance for $1 million liability and other types of coverage? We can arrange for this.
Cost: $ 85.00 for processing the certificate.

Rates for export packing assumes a normal mix of household goods and
personal effects, using the industry standard of up to 7-lbs per 1-cubic foot (density factor).
The shipping industry tends to base their rates on "weight or measure" whichever is greater.
In-land trucking, packers/delivery labor fees for densely packed goods tend to go on weight.

Extra charges will apply for excessive and
extra-ordinary packing:
for example, packing an entire 20 or 40-ft
containerload of fragile china (no furniture).
It is safest to send us (in advance) a clean list of what is to be shipped, to confirm packing/delivery charges.

Professional origin services means our team
of export packers are
covered by an umbrella of services and insurance,
all of which comes at a cost.
This includes: workmans compensation;
liability coverage against damage to building
from which removal is to occur - often for $ 1 million; insurance
on the trucks and equipment that bring the men, materials, container, etc;
valid trailer interchange agreements in place with the SS lines/carriers and the trucker;
an insured and secure building from which the regular crew is dispatched;
an existing operations department (not occasional labor),
experienced personnel with proper work ethics and know how,
good trade relations to get things done properly
(i.e. at the piers, inside the cfs container freight station warehouses,
at the cet-customs examination terminals, with container truckers,
overseas agents, and so on.)
We know from real experience
inside the shipping industry, the difference between experienced, insured labor using professionals,
compared to self packed economical options.
Regarding quality export packing and origin services: "You get what you pay for."
Whatever option may be your preference, we'll be pleased to work with you!
Services are non-divisible, ie.,
Sefco does not make one crate and not handle/ship it.
We do not only palletize.
In containerized shipping, a property owner can pack and load everything themselves.
If our professional crews are to be engaged, this is only in conjunction with our shipping services.
Our packers should not be expected to do a partial job.
A normal job includes packing/pickup shipping/handling and insurance.
Any overseas moving job using our professionals will invariably go well.

Cost: In most locations (within 30-miles of our OA packing facilities) $175 (applied toward the total cost of the move).

Storage in transit
S.I.T. storage costs vary depending on the cfs-warehouse location,
service requirements, labor rates, insurance,
level of security and duration.
Use this as a basic guideline for SIT storage-in-transit
in a SEFCO-designated movers warehouse - rate subject to booking:
LCL after 5 days is $0.20 per cu ft per week or fraction thereof;
min $30/week, plus SIT documentation fee: $50 flat
Goods to be held in storage must have storage charges pre-paid in advance.
A cod collect fee of 7% will apply to accounts not prepaid in advance.
SIT storage rates exclude warehouse handling charges
SIT storage accounts (goods held for longer than 2-weeks)
are billed on 1-month minimum increments (to be prepaid only).
A proforma invoice will be issued to confirm local SIT charges.
Rates can var to the extent that some high security urban locations carry higher charges,
and so every SIT rate is to be re-confirmed in advance through our proforma invoice.
Storage file processing fee :
$ 50 flat document fee
Plus: Any SIT storage insurance
available upon request.
Self-storage units will always be
less expensive than full-service storage, where each piece is signed for and
re-counted by professional movers, coming in and going out.
If necessary, the cost for removal of unclaimed storage/debris will be for the account of the property owner.
