    Be prepared. Take insurance.

    Commercial Cargo Services

Ask Sefco to confirm the rates for high-value and commercial cargo insurance.

What's needed: Commercial shipments will need a copy of the commercial invoice or other proof of value.
Certain destinations may require copies of the "shippers letter of compliance" for underwriters approval.

    How much to insure for?

One "industry recommended" valuation method, is as follows:
Take:   (A) Cost for the product at origin, plus   (B) Cost for Shipping/handling = subtotal,
x times 10% of the subtotal   =  (C)   Suggested total insured value.
Cargo Insurance Markets:   Marsh CNA - Commercial Cargo Insurance

      Protocol:
                1) Declare the value to Sefco on our SLI form or via email, requesting coverage.
                2) Sefco processes and submits referral to broker/underwriters for a cost of:  $ 65.00 processing fee
                3) Upon receipt of premium payment, the certificate is sent to the insured via email.

Once coverage is requested by the shipper and submitted by Sefco to the broker/underwriters, there are no refunds for processing the marine cargo insurance. Sefco's fee schedule for freight forwarding
documents and accessorial services is based on the LOE-level of effort required, and can be accessed on our website.

COMMERCIAL CARGO = GOODS FOR RESALE

Please be advised that "personal property" shipments are handled and insured differently, from "commercial cargo".

      See below for further information.
