Originally: Greenpoint, Brooklyn, NYC USA based
Mr. Quinns' tenure with
OMS "Overseas Moving Specialists" began in 1986.
The Brooklyn based OMS, a well established Export Packing
and
Shipping Company, was originally founded in 1966.
International Shipping
OMS was founded by Sherman Samalin in 1966, who himself started in the shipping industry years earlier at Endicott Overseas, one of the oldest NYC based international moving companies
(no longer around). The company's "brick and mortar" warehouse facilities spanned through one entire city block - wide
(between North 11th Street and North 12th Street in Greenpoint, steps from the East River) with several loading docks and bays,
a fleet of trucks, container flatbeds, steps vans,
a full labor force composed of Teamsters (local 814),
complete carpentry operations, US Customs bonded area,
container loading/unloading platforms,
regular frequency ocean consolidation containers going to major overseas ports,
SIT storage in locked steel containers and lift-vans stacked three stories tall,
comprehensive export/import services provided to freight forwarders,
trading companies, major corporations, Consulates, UN Missions, and private individuals.
Sefco began as an independent concern in 1993. Sefco Export Management Company, Inc. is a New York State corporation.
SEFCO holds a Federal Maritime OTI License.

OMS had a large
HHG/PE export packaging warehouse and auto loading operation,
originally based at 112 North 12th Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, USA
At its height, the Overseas physical labor force included approximately
40 members of the Teamsters Union.
