Sefco arranges moves from practically anywhere in the USA. <br><br>Commodity: HHG/PE household goods, personal effects (only non-hazardous cargo)<br><br> Rates are - in general - determined by the distance from the origin loading point, to the US port of departure and subject to potential EIB situations. <br> If the cargo is originating more than 300 miles away from the US ports shown, often the container will move via intermodal rail service. <br>Rates are confirmed by the SS line and carriers at the time it is actually booked to move. Rates can change periodically depending on a variety of factors. <br>Please read our online guides (<a href="#guides">captioned above</a>) for further details. <br><br> <b>*Door</b> means any street location that will be normally accessible for one of our designated commercial container truckers to position an ocean container. Commercial locations are best, ie., large yards with easy access, no impediments such as low hanging electrical wires, tree branches, etc., warehouses with standard loading docks, storage facilities, roads that normally allow commercial traffic. Some locations may be unsafe, or inaccessible such as private gated communities. A trucker may require an <a href="http://www.sefco-export.com/accessorial.htm">accessorial surcharge</a> for positioning containers in non-commercial areas or for non-standard working hours, ie., "special appointments", any work done on a weekend, after normal working hours. </font><br> <a name="intermodal"></a> <br>**important note <br><font size="2"> Concerning intermodal moves coming from US interior locations: <br> EIB'S equipment imbalances are where there is a real shortage of containers at a certain location and they have to be railed in from another location. This can have an impact on intermodal/precarriage costs, driving the prices up by over $1000.00. There is no indication when EIB's can happen or when they will end in a certain area. <br> <br><b> Intermodal railroad transfer fees for moves originating in US interior points:</b> <br><br> From most major rail hubs in the US from the Mississippi River, moving eastward, the additional charge per FCL container rates has run over $ 950 - $ 1250 additional (coming from major cities in states like Indiana, Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky.) From the US West interior, EIB charges have driven the intermodal rail rates to well over $ 2500 additional (coming from major cities in states like Colorado, Utah, New Mexico.) Intermodal rates are estimations only, based on historical precedent and serve as a general guideline only.
