International Shipping Agents

Overseas NVOCC Port Agent Liaison, Export-Import LCL Shipping Agents, Port Botany, Australia

At Sefco Export we believe in the long term value of maintaining good relations with our select network of professional port agents: commercial agents serving the shipping industry and trade (only)

AGS World Transport is the deconsol agent for our colleagues at Shipco (USA), serving the freight forwarding and professional logistics trade. Based at Molineux Point at the mouth of Botany Bay harbor. Our thanks to Mr. Jeff Davies for the guided tour of the customs bonded warehouse facilities. Port labor for unloading all containers is performed through P&O, one of the two dominant stevedoring companies in Sydney. The other major player is "Patrick Stevedores". The two different color gantry cranes along the port (yellow or red) allow people to distinguish between the two different port stevedoring operations.

Are you a freight forwarder or wholesale logistics provider? Do you have consistent LCL commercial cargo coming from or going to Sydney? Contact Jeff Davies. Tell them "Sefco sent you."
NVOCC CFS-container freight station operations in Sydney; AGS services are provided in cooperation with one of the two largest stevedoring companies in the country (P&O). Complete Export/Import operations. Commercial cargo exports from Australia to: New Zealand, USA, points worldwide. Commercial trucking deliveries via AGS owned trucks, for delivery throughout Australia. Our commercial NVOCC port agents should not be expected to provide the services that a HHG/PE personal effects specialist agent (HHG D/A-destination agent) is better suited to do. Commercial cargo is very different from "P/E" personal effects consignments. Photos: February 2005 - Along the dockyards in Port Botany (Sydney) Australia

"Hands On" Expertise

Advice from OSS principal, Bob Wray: "Mind the pine cones!"

People often forget that a Christmas wreath will have pine cones on them. This is "verbotin" - forbidden in Australia. Pine cones are just one of several items of an agricultural nature that will be segregated from shipment during the AQIS quarantine clearance process, and destroyed.
Clear and concise packing lists are also important.

Sefco Export customers will be given access to PDF copies of our agent's latest advice [2005] and guidelines concerning Australian customs and quarantine clearance matters. Our D/A destination agent's information can help you avoid making costly mistakes.

OSS trucks can pickup incoming HHG/PE consignments from the port agents used by the SSL steamship lines, and transport the cargo "in bond" for Australian customs clearance and AQIS quarantine clearance at their own bonded warehouse located away from the port. This is good because there is normally only three days "free time" for cargo that comes into the port - pending clearance - before port storage begins to accrue. It is better for our specialist agents to have control over the cargo pending clearance. In Australia, there are two (2) clearances: one by Australian customs, and the other by AQIS.
